UNL received the Urban Innovation Champions award alongside 14 other recipients during the inaugural Cities of the Future conference held in Singapore.
UNL was delighted to receive the Urban Innovation Champions award alongside 14 other recipients during the inaugural Cities of the Future conference held on 28 April at the Raffles City Convention Centre in Singapore.
The Urban Innovation Champion award recognizes startups within ASEAN for their contributions in improving the future of city development, thus demonstrating UNL’s commitment to unlocking the socio-economic and environmental impact of locations.
The live-streamed, prestigious event organized by Unbound and hosted by IMG coincides with the HSBC Women’s World Championship LPGA golf tournament. The event featured keynote presentations from corporate and startup leaders who shared their involvement in developing future cities.
The past decade has seen rapid urbanization expediting social, economic and technological shifts along. By 2030 up to 60% of people in the world are expected to live in cities, raising questions about achieving and sustaining resilient urban environments.
Xander van der Heijden, UNL’s CEO and founder, also led a brief session sharing the unlimited possibilities of activating urban data into intelligent data and its usefulness across smart city applications and services.
During the presentation, Xander also discussed the importance of geotechnology in helping cities achieve sustainability by giving a preview of UNL’s technology and use cases—ranging from optimization of last-mile delivery to dynamic crowd management and powering a fully autonomous future through UNL’s smart location infrastructure.
On receiving the award, Xander commented:
“We are delighted to be recognized for our work to make smart cities smarter and more sustainable by this award. We look forward to working in collaboration with governments and organizations across the public sector. Through investments and innovation, we can work together to devise solutions fit for the future.”
